You came with Orion in
your eyes, sweeping me
into a brightly lit nebula.
My tears sprinkled among
your atmosphere, birthing
stars.
You came with warm breath,
exhaling oxidants. I, as fuel,
inhaled you, flaring heat and a
chain of exothermic reactions
CH4 + 2 O2 → CO2 + 2 H2O
+ energy.
You came with passion in
your lips, lingering, causing my skin to smolder while exciting electrons in a pure white frenzy of
eros.

I like it when you speak scientific sparking.
🙂 The best kind.
Excellent! Very passionate and edgy…..I like it….
Thanks :-).
Very lovely poem. Great images.
Thanks, Madeline.
What is love if not chemistry and science? Who can explain the rise in temperature of the skin when we touch our beloved? Biology and science meet and meld as heart beats pound and swell. Oh youth have lots to learn about love and science! I loved this Pamela!

Thanks, Tameka. Oh yes, love can be a transformative experience. 🙂 xo
Thanks, Adriene!
Being too scientific it loses its power as a poem.
Thanks for the honest criticism. Sometimes, I take it. Other times, I leave it. In any case, always good to hear.
Really interesting and very scientific…I looked at it and read Onion instead of Orion so I better get my glasses prescription checked!
🙂 Uh-oh, yes, time to check the eyes. Thanks, Jim.

Oh this is neat. I particularly love the insertion of the chemistry.
However, the first verse had me hooked from the start. And particularly
my tears sprinkled among
your atmosphere birthing
stars
