a spiritual sin some say
sincerity creasing their
knowledgeable foreheads
crucifixes clasped rosaries
clutched
they don’t realize it’s
more of a slip like bare
feet on damp moss a
loss of footing a gentle
off kiltering
weeble wobbling over the
edge a dip or a dive it’s
pretty much the same when
one treads water in the
pool of despair
a spiritual bath I say
sincerity creasing my
unknowledgeable forehead
fingers clasped heart
clutched

I could even feel the damp moss, and longed to be out in the woods on a warm day.

I just watched this as a movie in my mind.
wonderful image
Thank-you!!!! xo
I really enjoyed this…the image of cleansing and the photo. Using the metaphor of treading water such as you did is brilliant.
Thank-you!!!!!
I see the talent,
am a little envious,
yet hey,
don’t do poems,
don’t need to,
as I like to read yours..
Cheers
Everyone is a poet–whether he/she realizes it and gets the words down on paper is another story :-). Thanks!
Yeah girl, you’re a poet alright!
All the best with your writing.
May the new year ahead find you
more fruitful than ever.
Debra

I am not sure it can be said any better than that.
Awesome post!

Thanks, Tim! Can’t ever forget those weeble wobbles from childhood :-).
